Who can participate?
You must be 18 years or older, have a clean valid drivers license (no violations within the past 12 months), and completely fill out an application(s). If you have been convicted of a felony or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, we cannot guarantee that your application will be accepted. You must be a citizen or permanent resident of one of the following countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines, India, and soon many more!
Some of the companies listed in our directory do request a credit check. Not all of them require this. You do not need to be employed. They select drivers based upon their driving habits such as how many miles they drive, and where they are located. Selection depends upon considerations such as driving record, driving habits, location, etc. Most companies require a minimum mileage. The FreeCarCompany does not supply cars or employment and cannot guarantee your acceptance. We only guarantee the legitimacy of these programs and the application process.
I already have a car. Can I still participate?
Many companies will pay you up to $3200 a month to drive your own car! However the average is a healthy $400 per month. They will simply have you take your car to a professional "wrapper" who will add a logo or advertisement to your vehicle. The "wrapper" is completely removable and will not harm your car! Your car must be in good working condition and able to portray the desired image of the sponsoring company. As long as it meets the advertisers criteria, you are free to use your own car. In fact, you'll make more money because the agency won't have to pay for the new car for you to drive. If you are selected, you will be paid every month to drive your car. Companies accept all types of vehicles in good average condition. If you take the free car offer or wrap your own it must be used as your primary car and you must be the principle driver.
How much do I get paid to drive?
There are several ways you can earn. You could earn the free use of a car, or get paid anywhere between $100 and $3,200 a month. It depends on the program participation. As a Free Car Company member you will also receive 60% of the membership fee when you introduce your friends and family.
How will I know if I've been Accepted?
The sponsoring company will contact you directly by email or by telephone. They will inform you of where and when to pick up your vehicle. They also may require a copy of your driving record. You will be told about the program and given instructions. The timeframe depends on advertisers' demand. Since this program is relatively new, nothing can be guaranteed in terms of available programs. As more advertisers and drivers sign up for the program, your chances of being selected will increase.
Can I choose the vehicle?
The companies in the directory offer all kinds of vehicles. PT Cruisers, SUV's, Vans, Ford Explorer's among several others! None of the companies offer Corvettes or expensive luxury cars to our knowledge. You can't pick the exact vehicle or advertiser you want, however you can turn down a sponsoring company's offer and wait for another. However, keep in mind that your application is then returned to the pile so you will have to wait for an unspecified period of time or you may never be selected again. Our advice would be to take what they offer if you can if it's not a big issue.
What's the catch?
No catches at all! If you are provided with a car to use, you get to use it for free from a few months to several years, depending on the program. Your only costs are your automobile insurance and fuel. At the end of the term you may be able to lease the car, buy the car, or return it to the advertising company. More than 1 million car wraps are on the roads with more coming each day. Companies really will pay you to drive around a vehicle with an advertisement on it.
What if I am in an accident or if the car gets damaged, vandalized or stolen?
Notify your sponsor and your insurance company immediately. Your sponsor will work with you to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. They will work with your insurance company to settle any claims.
How long do I get the free car for?
It varies from company to company. You get the free car typically between 2 to 5 years. Once the term is over, you can choose to drive a car sponsored by another company as many times as you'd like, subject to availability, or negotiate with the sponsor company to extend the terms.
What if I move?
You can still be eligible for the program, just make appropriate changes with the companies.
